FAQs
Can you tell me about ZTA’s History?
Of course! ZTA celebrated its 126th birthday on Oct. 15, 2024. ZTA was founded by nine young women at Longwood University in 1898. Since then, ZTA has grown to more than 305,000 members! Our colors are turquoise and gray, our symbols are the crown and strawberry, and our patron goddess is named Themis.
Our chapter at Utah is a re-establishment, which means ZTA is rejoining campus. We can’t wait to re-establish ZTA’s Iota Tau Chapter and start new traditions with you!
What is ZTA’s Philanthropy?
We support breast cancer education and awareness. We partner with organizations like Making Strides Against Breast Cancer walks, NFL teams, and the Breast Cancer Research Foundation. Plus, the chapter will create its own signature philanthropy event on campus!
I’m an upperclassman. can I join?
ZTA is seeking students of all ages to help build a brand new chapter on campus! Our new member class will be built from first-fourth year students.
I want to be a leader. What opportunities are there?
Chapter officers will come from all academic classes. We have two sets of officers in ZTA - Executive Council and Programs Council. Leadership positions range from chapter President to athletic chair, so there is something for everyone! Officers will receive training and development from ZTA to help you excel in your role.
What about housing?
The ZTA Fraternity Housing Corporation (FHC) purchased a home for the chapter, located at 1415 Butler Ave. Renovations on this future Zeta castle will begin in January, and chapter members will have the opportunity to live there in fall 2026. You won’t have to live in the house to spend time there and enjoy time together with your ZTA sisters!
